Today
was the first clinic day of the week and was it busy! The team enjoyed
breakfast together at 6:00am before heading to the clinic site. We then
loaded up the busses and headed to Buda for our first clinic. The line
was already forming when we arrived. We were very excited to begin our
assignments for the day. The clinic opened at 8:45 a.m. and during the
morning, however, an unexpected storm came and made seeing patients
difficult. Yet, the team held it together and overcame the obstacles.
Fortunately, the storm did not last long and we could see the patients
easier because the sun came out.
There were over 250 people from villages all over that came to our clinic
eager to be helped, not only physically, but also spiritually. In spite
of all the different diseases we came across, the spiritual emphasis
was very strong at the services that were held throughout the clinic
site. To our knowledge, fifty people accepted Christ as their Savior!
All of the unique people we saw and the hearts that were touched made
an impact on every person on the team. Although it was sad to turn people
away because of time, it was exciting to see the smiles on all the adults
and children’s faces that we helped. We finally wrapped up our
day at 7:30 p.m. and headed back for supper at the missionaries house
after the doctors, nurses, and rest of the team worked very hard to
get as many people in the clinic as possible. It is only day one, and
we can already see our hard work being paid off by God’s grace
and are excited for the rest of the week. We trust that you will continue
in prayer for us for strength each day and that we will be good testimonies
for our Savior.
